Video: Botanical Butterfly - Spellbinders Guest Design

Hey folks!

In today's video, I'm sharing two cards I did for Spellbinders last week. I will be showing you how I make two very easy cards using some lovely dies from the Flower Garden Collection from Spellbinders. They are a little but different for me, but I had a blast!

Be sure to stay tuned folks. Over the next few days, I will have a couple of more cards featuring Spellbinders to share!

You can watch the video on how I made my cards HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.

I started by making a shaped cards using the frame die from the FLORAL PANEL CARD Etched Die Set. I used Neenah SOLAR WHITE 80lb. Cardstock and my Spellbinders PLATINUM 6 Die Cutting Machine.

Then I die cut the butterfly from the BOTANICAL BUTTEFLY Etched Die Set from My Favorite Things BRUSHED GOLD cardstock.

I used the My Favorite Things DISTRESSED PATTERNS Stamp Set to create my the “splatters” on my card panel, but you could totally use gold paint like Gansai Tambi STARRY COLORS and a paint brush to add them if you like.

I used the same stamp set to heat embossed the texture on the panel with VERSAMARK INK and Hero Arts GOLD Embossing Powder.

The BIRD ON CHERRY BRANCH Etched Die Set has some really sweet flowers so I die cut those as well, but I cut them in colored cardstocks. I used My Favorite Things WILD CHERRY and Gina K Designs TURQUIOSE SEA. The color combinations are endless folks, but I thought red and blue-green were prefect pairs with the gold.

I used a BALL Stylus  and the Spellbinders EMBOSSING MAT to shape my flowers. If you have the Spellbinders TOOL N' ONE there are available attachments that includes a STYLUS.

I used Best Creations FOAM TAPE as well as 3M FOAM TAPE to build the dimension in the butterfly and flowers. Be sure to watch the VIDEO to see how I did this.

I added all of the little flowers and leaves around the bottom of the butterfly and added some Hero Arts PEARLS  to the center of the flowers and a sentiment from the Hero Arts FOR YOU Stamp Set the panel to finish it off.

That’s it!
